Standard 1.4

Demonstrate broad knowledge and understanding of the impact of culture, cultural identity and linguistic background on the education of students from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.

Through participating in the Crossing Cultures 'A Hidden History' sessions, I have demonstrated my theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of the impact of culture and cultural identity on students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres strait Islander. I have learnt how to build long lasting, meaningful relationships with Indigenous people, improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student learning outcomes and give all students an understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditional and contemporary cultures.

 

This ceritificate shows my completion of the program while the uploaded PDF is the reflective journal I completed as part of the assessment criteria. This PDF is annotated to include the elements of the AITSL teaching standards.
